According to the customs statistics, in December 2014 Ukraine imported 2.4 thsd tonnes of sunflower seed, which became the record index for the reporting month. It should be noted that in November 2014 Ukraine imported only 61 tonnes of the oilseed, and in December 2013 - 1.4 thsd tonnes.
France (1.6 thsd tonnes) and Switzerland (0.7 thsd tonnes) were the main suppliers of foreign sunflower seed, and the share of the reporting countries covered 95% of the oilseed imports in December 2014.
Thus, in September-December period of 2014/15 MY Ukraine imported 2.5 thsd tonnes of sunflower seed, which also became the record for the reporting period.
