According to APK-Inform analysts, in 2014/15 MY the export volumes of the Ukrainian wheat will total 11 mln tonnes, up 18.5% compared with the previous season index (9.3 mln tonnes). As a reminder, on January 27 the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and participants of the grain market signed the Memorandum, in which the approximate export volume of wheat in 2014/15 MY is established at the level of 12.8 mln tonnes, including 7.1 mln tonnes of milling wheat (I-V grades).
“Therefore, the viable export volumes of wheet are less than the volumes, established by the Memorandum, and accordingly, the limitation of the grain export is unlikely to be discussed until the end of the season”, - considered Andrei Kupchenko, grain market analyst of APK-Inform Agency.
Also, he mentioned that the lower forecasted volume of foreign supplies is caused by reduction of milling wheat share in the current season, which forms the basis of the export of this crop.
“Thus, milling wheat formed 88% from the general export volumes of wheat in 2013/14 MY. According to our estimations, in July-December of 2014 Ukraine exported 4.75 mln tonnes of milling wheat of 1-3 grades, which totals 60% of the export volumes in the specified period (7.9 mln tonnes). In July-December of the last season the index totaled 87%”, - added the expert.
