In the period of January 21 –28, 2015, the export prices for Ukrainian sunflower oil decreased by nearly 50 USD/t compared with the previous week indices, declared the State Enterprise Derzhzovnishinform.
The export prices for the specified commodity decreased by 50 USD/t FOB-Black Sea ports, and totaled 740-755 USD/t with deliveries in February-March of 2015. At the same time, the demand for Ukrainian sunflower oil was quite low, said Evgeniy Tomashevsky, expert of the agro-industrial department of SE Derzhzovnishinform.
According to him, the current fall of prices for soybean oil in the USA and rapeseed oil in the EU form the main pressure on the Ukrainian market of sunflower oil.
To date the bearish trends of the world market of oilseeds form the price situation in the Ukrainian export sector. Thus, expectations of the record high soybean production in Brazil, Argentina and the USA (which will lead to increasing of soybean oil production) pressured on export prices of sunflower oil of Ukrainian origin, said the expert.
