Global wheat demand to increase by 12% in 2023 – FAO

By 2023 the wheat global demand will have increased by 12%, and the index for coarse grains - up 10% compared with the level of 2010-2013, stated Dmitry Prikhodko, Agricultural Economist at the FAO’s Investment Centre Division, on March 25 at the Ukrainian-American Agrarian Congress.

The wheat global trade will increase by 22%, and coarse grains one – up 14%.

D.Prikhodko noted that the USA will keep the top positions of wheat and coarse grains exports in 2023, with the share of 31% of the general market volume (at the level of 170 mln tonnes).

In 2023 the share of Ukraine will total nearly 5% of the global wheat market, and 12% - coarse grains market.
