In the southern regions of Kazakhstan agrarians started the spring crops planting campaign. As of the end of March, the planted areas reached over 160 thsd ha, declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan on March 31.
In 2015, the general planted area of crops will total more than 21.5 mln ha, including spring grains - 15.2 mln ha (wheat - 12.2 mln ha).
It particular, in the current year wheat planted areas will decrease by 235 thsd ha (2%), rice - down 8.5 thsd ha (9%), while the planted areas of coarse grains, pulses and groat crops will increase by 104 thsd ha (4%). The planted areas of oilseeds will reach 2.2 mln ha, forage crops - 3.7 mln ha (up 349 thsd ha compared with 2014).
