According to the official statistics data, during the first 8 months of the season 2014/15 (July-February) Kazakhstan exported 2.1 mln tonnes of wheat, a decrease of 35% (1.1 mln tonnes) compared with the same period of 2013/14 MY. In the current season, the rates of grain shipments abroad monthly lagged behind the last year indices by 19-49%.
Reduction of wheat shipments to Iran (down 413 thsd tonnes), Azerbaijan (down 460 thsd tonnes), China (down 136 thsd tonnes) and a number of other countries, became the main factor of the export fall in the reporting period. At the same time, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan somewhat increased their import volumes of the Kazakh grain.
