Since the beginning of 2014/15 MY (July 1) and as of April 8, the volume of grain exports from Russia totaled 26.589 mln tonnes, an increase of 23.7% compared with the same period last season (21.488 mln tonnes), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on April 13, referring to operative data of the Federal Customs Service of Russia.
According to the announcement, the wheat volumes formed 19.569 mln tonnes from the reporting export volumes (in 2013/14 MY – 15.926 mln tonnes), barley – 4.531 mln tonnes (2.134mln tonnes), corn – 2.062 mln tonnes (3.169mln tonnes), and other grains – 427 thsd tonnes.
Since the date of imposition of the export duties on wheat (February 1) and as of April 8, Russia exported 3.269 mln tonnes of grains, against 3.943 mln tonnes in the same period of the previous season. In particular, the volume included 1.099 mln tonnes of wheat (in 2013/14 MY - 2.682 mln tonnes), 1.193 mln tonnes of barley, 842 thsd tonnes of corn, and 135 thsd tonnes of other grains.
