Since the beginning of 2014/15 MY (July 1) and as of April 22, the volume of grain exports from Russia totaled 27.359 mln tonnes, an increase of 21.9% compared with the same period last season (22.435 mln tonnes), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on April 27, referring to operative data of the Federal Customs Service of Russia.
According to the announcement, the wheat volumes formed 19.837 mln tonnes from the reporting export volumes (in 2013/14 MY – 16.56 mln tonnes), barley – 4.883 mln tonnes (2.252 mln tonnes), corn – 2.203 mln tonnes (3.35 mln tonnes), and other grains – 436 thsd tonnes.
Since the date of imposition of the export duties on wheat (February 1) and as of April 22, Russia exported 4.039 mln tonnes of grains, against 4.903 mln tonnes in the same period of the previous season. In particular, the volume included 1.368 mln tonnes of wheat (in 2013/14 MY - 3.316 mln tonnes), 1.545 mln tonnes of barley, 982 thsd tonnes of corn, and 144 thsd tonnes of other grains.
