To date, the export prices for new crop Russian wheat are declining, and their level is already lower compared with grains of the harvest-2014, declared Igor Pavensky, Deputy Director of the strategic management department at Rusagrotrans CJSC, on April 24.

The low world prices, strengthening of the RUR/USD exchange rates, and expectations for coming of new crop grain volumes on the market, make Russian exporters to reduce the purchasing prices, said the expert.

According to him, in the Russian deep-sea ports the prices for new crop 4-grade wheat, which is the main export item, fell by 7-10 USD/t - to 190-194 USD/t FOB, as opposed to 260 USD/t last year.

As for the price situation on the domestic market, I.Pavensky noted development of the bearish trend on the grain market. The prices for new crop 4-grade wheat should total nearly 7000-7500 RUR/t at elevators of the southern and central Russia, to ensure its profitable sales.

At the same time, the purchasing prices of grains to the intervention fund can support the market prices, he added.

Also, I.Pavensky expected for some extraordinary global demand for grains in the nearest future, due to beginning of the new season. And the Russian wheat will be among the applicants to cover such demand, said the expert.
