As of April 27, agrarians of Russia planted spring crops throughout the areas of over 7 mln ha (13.6% of the forecast), as opposed to 8.3 mln ha on the same date last year. In particular, spring grain planted areas reached 4.1 mln ha, or 13.2% of the forecast (in 2014 - 5.3 mln ha), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
According to the announcement, Russia planted spring wheat throughout 420.7 thsd ha (3.2% of the plan), spring barley – 2.2 mln ha (27.3%), corn for grain 793.3 thsd ha (28.3%), and rice — 0.8 thsd ha.
Russia planted sunflower seed throughout 991.7 thsd ha, or 15% of the forecast, spring rapeseed – 79.1 thsd ha (8.5%), and soybeans – 66.9 thsd ha (3.3%).
Russian agrarians provided additional fertilizing of winter crops areas throughout 10.4 mln ha, or 61.7% of the autumn planted areas.
