Kazakhstan plans to launch three large-scale plants for production of vegetable oils, declared Asylzhan Mamytbekov, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on May 8.

According to him, every year the country increases the planted areas under oilseeds. For the first time, last year the planted areas in Kazakhstan exceeded the level of 2 mln ha. There have appeared certain issues on marketing of the oilseed products. Kazakhstan is becoming more dependent on the global demand for oilseed raw materials and its price fluctuations. Therefore, the country plans to develop domestic processing capacities, process oilseeds at oils, etc. Such infrastructure provides high value-added commodities, new jobs, rising of investments and taxes, said A.Mamytbekov.

He added that the reporting three plants for oilseed processing will process nearly 1 mln tonnes of oilseeds per year.
