Since the beginning of 2014/15 MY (July 1) and as of May 13, the volume of grain exports from Russia totaled 28.07 mln tonnes, an increase of 18.4% compared with the same period last season (23.708 mln tonnes), declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on May 18, referring to operative data of the Federal Customs Service of Russia.
According to the announcement, the wheat volumes formed 20.083 mln tonnes from the reporting export volumes (in 2013/14 MY – 17.303 mln tonnes), barley – 5.003 mln tonnes (2.385 mln tonnes), corn – 2.536 mln tonnes (3.724 mln tonnes), and other grains – 448 thsd tonnes.
Since the date of imposition of the export duties on wheat (February 1) and as of May 13, Russia exported 4.751 mln tonnes of grains, against 6.176 mln tonnes in the same period of the previous season. In particular, the volume included 1.614 mln tonnes of wheat (in 2013/14 MY - 4.059 mln tonnes), 1.666 mln tonnes of barley, 1.315 mln tonnes of corn, and 156 thsd tonnes of other grains.
