Kazakhstan planted spring grains throughout over 3.2 mln ha

According to oblast agricultural departments of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as of May 26, agrarians planted spring grains throughout the areas of 3.242 mln ha, or 22.1% of the plan, reported the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan. But it should be noted that on the same date in 2014, Kazakhstan planted grains throughout 8.137 mln ha, or 55.3% of the plan.

Also, Kazakhstan planted oilseeds throughout 1.302 mln ha (59.4%), as opposed to 1.782 mln ha (81%) on the same date last year. Four oblasts of the country continued planting corn for grain, and the planted areas already reached 118.3 thsd ha (92.4%). Agrarians of Almaty and Kyzylorda oblasts planted rice throughout 83.7 thsd ha (96.5%).

As a reminder, on May 21 Auezkhan Darinov, Chairman of the republican non-governmental association "Union of Farmers of Kazakhstan", the country suspended the spring crops planting campaign, due to heavy rains.
