Ukraine completed the spring crops planting campaign at nearly 99%, declared Oleksiy Pavlenko, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on May 28.
According to him, Ukrainian agrarians almost completed the spring crops field works. It was ones of the most difficult planting campaigns in the history of the country, because some part of the lands was lost, and some part - mined... In 2015, the planted areas under all agricultural crops are expected at 27 mln ha, the same as last year, said O.Pavlenko.
In particular, grain crops areas in all categories of agricultural enterprises are planned to reach 14.8 mln ha, including winter grains - 8 mln ha, spring grains - 6.9 mln ha. As of the reporting date, agrarians planted spring grains throughout 6.8 mln ha.
Also, the Minister said that the forecast of buckwheat planted areas in Ukraine increased to 127 thsd ha.
