According to preliminary data of the association Ukroliyaprom, in 2014 Ukraine reduced the production volumes of major oilseeds by 40 thsd tonnes compared with the indices of 2013, or down 0.2%, declared the press-service of the association on June 26.
In particular, the volume of sunflower production decreased by 948 thsd tonnes, or down 8.6%, due to lowering of the yield indices, rapeseed - down 188.4 thsd tonnes (down 7.9%), due to reduction of the planted areas. But the production volumes of soybeans increased by 1.097 mln tonnes, or up 39.5%, due to growth of the yield (up 2.4%) and harvested areas (up 32.7%).
Also, Ukroliyaprom reported that in 2014, sunflower seed remained as rather profitable agricultural crop - 37.4% (28.7% in 2013). The profitability of soybean production increased to 34.2% (15.9% in 2013), rapeseed - to 28.7% (8.8% in 2013).
