In 2014/15 MY, Russia exported the record volumes of grains to Iran and Azerbaijan - the countries, which were previously the traditional buyers of Kazakh grains, declared Igor Pavensky, Deputy Director of the strategic management department of Rusagrotrans.

According to him, last season Iran imported nearly 2.8 mln tonnes of Russian grains, an increase of actually two times compared with the previous MY. But Azerbaijan increased the delivery volumes of Russian wheat in 2.3 times - to 1.7 mln tonnes.

Also, in 2014/15 MY Russia increased its presence on the grain market of Latin American countries. First of all, Russia increased grain supplies to Mexico to 406 thsd tonnes, the expert added.

In addition, I.Pavensky stressed the growth of grain supplying to such countries as Jordan (up 90%, to 747 thsd tonnes), Saudi Arabia (up 78%, to 2.65 mln tonnes), Nigeria (up 70%, to 711 thsd tonnes), Turkey (up 34.5%, to 5.86 mln tonnes) and Georgia (up 22.3%, to 694 thsd tonnes).

Last season, the exports of basic grains from Russia (excluding supplying of peas and flour, as well as the exports to Kazakhstan) increased by 20% compared with 2013/14 MY - to 30.28 mln tonnes. But taking into account the foreign supplies of all grains and pulses, the index reached 31.9 mln tonnes, the analyst concluded.
