In 2014/15 MY, Russia increased the exports of wheat and barley compared with the previous season, but somewhat reduced corn shipments, declared the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
In particular, the export volumes of wheat totaled 21.703 mln tonnes, an increase of 18.1% compared with the previous agricultural season (18.297 mln tonnes). The exports of barley almost doubled - to 5.304 mln tonnes, against 2.705 mln tonnes.
At the same time, the exports of corn dropped by 25% - to 3.012 mln tonnes, against the record index of 4.052 mln tonnes in 2013/2014 MY. The exports of other agricultural crops totaled 489 thsd tonnes, as opposed to 318 thsd tonnes in the previous year.
According to preliminary data, in 2014/15 MY the export volumes of grains from Russia totaled 30.508 mln tonnes, up 20.2% compared with 2013/14 MY (25.372 mln tonnes). Taking into account the supplies of pulses, the general exports reached 30.72 mln tonnes.
