According to the official statistics data, in 2014/15 MY Ukraine supplied nearly 489 thsd tonnes of wheat to Thailand, an increase of 27% compared with 2013/14 MY (385 thsd tonnes). It should be noted that the Ukrainian grain covered nearly 15% of the general wheat imports to the country, which the USDA estimated at 3.3 mln tonnes.

Also, the supplies of Ukrainian wheat to Bangladesh showed even more significant growth, and in 2014/15 MY the index reached 642 thsd tonnes, as opposed to 344 thsd tonnes in the previous season. The share of the Ukrainian grain in the general wheat imports to Bangladesh in 2014/15 MY (nearly 3.8 mln tonnes) totaled nearly 17%.

According to the long-term forecasts of the USDA experts, in the future the reporting countries are expected to gradually increase the wheat import volumes. Many international and Ukrainian experts consider the Asian grain market as one of the most perspective directions for exports of Ukrainian agricultural products.

The perspective markets for Ukrainian agricultural products became one of the key themes of the first round of the Ukrainian Agrarian Congress, to be held in Kiev, on October 15-16.
