Last week the weather conditions in Ukraine significantly improved, and agrarians advanced the harvesting campaign rates to 400-450 thsd ha per day, declared Volodymyr Topchiy, Director of the department of crop farming and technical policy at the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on July 27.
According to him, despite the difficult political and economic conditions, Donetsk oblast produced 1 mln tonne of grains. As of the reporting date, the largest grain volumes were harvested in Odessa oblast - 2.9 mln tonnes, Dnipropetrovsk oblast - 2.4 mln tonnes, Mykolaiv oblast - 2.2 mln tonnes, Zaporozhye oblast - 2 mln tonnes, and Kherson oblast - 1.9 mln tonnes.
The southern regions harvested grains throughout 86% of the planned areas, in particular Dnipropetrovsk oblast - 90%, Kherson oblast - 84%, Zaporozhye oblast - 79%, Kirovohrad oblast - 81%. Odessa and Mykolaiv oblasts almost completed harvesting early grain crops - 96% each. Volyn and Lviv oblasts harvested grains throughout 16% of the planned areas, said V.Topchiy.
