Six countries, which are not members of the European Union, joined the current economic sanctions of the EU against Russia, which action was extended until January 31, 2016, informed the official report of the European Council on July 29.

According to the announcement, Montenegro, Albania, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein and Ukraine sided with the EU restrictive measures in view of Russia's actions destabilising the situation in Ukraine.

“The Candidate Countries Montenegro and Albania and the EFTA countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, members of the European Economic Area, as well as Ukraine align themselves with the Declaration of the EU on extension of the economic sanctions against the Russian Federation until January 31, 2016," - informed the report.
