On August 4, Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, urged the Government to study the issue on expanding the list of foreign countries, which are subject to Russian economic counter sanctions.
According to him, some countries which had not been subject to the Russian counter sanctions, imposed their retaliatory measures against Russia. "If it is really the case it is necessary to prepare an appeal to the President to supplement the decree [the list of sanctioned countries] with an additional number of countries supporting such decisions [Western sanctions against Russia]," – D.Medvedev said,
As a reminder, the current ban on imports to Russia of beef, pork, fruits and vegetables, poultry meat, fish, cheese, milk and most dairy products, acts against the supplies from the USA, the EU, Canada, Australia and Norway.
