Adverse weather conditions, observed in Ukraine in early August 2015, can reduce the production volumes of corn in Ukraine by 10-15%, declared Yaroslav Krasnopolskiy, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on August 18.

According to him, the high air temperatures, observed in Ukraine since the beginning of August, provided negative impact on formation of the harvest volumes of late crops. The planted areas lost its reserves of productive moisture, and the plants stopped its vegetation processes. Furthermore, corn, soybeans and sunflower seed showed premature ripening processes. So, grains and seeds lost their absolute weight and yield indices.
