The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia increased the forecast of general grain production in the current year to 102 mln tonnes, declared Petr Chekmarev, Director of the Department of plant growing, chemicalization and plant protection at the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, on August 21.
In particular, the harvest volumes of winter and spring wheat will reach 59.8 mln tonnes, winter and spring barley - 17.4 mln tonnes, corn - 13 mln tonnes, and rice - 1.05 mln tonnes, said the official.
As for the harvest of oilseed crops, the index is expected to reach 13.7 mln tonnes, including 8.8 mln tonnes of sunflower seed, 1.15 mln tonnes of rapeseed, 0.6 mln tonnes of flaxseed, etc.
