According to preliminary calculations of the association Ukroliyaprom, in 2014/15 MY the production of sunflower oil in Ukraine, taking into account the capacities of oil pressing factories, will not exceed 4.2 mln tonnes, against 4.65 mln tonnes in the previous season (down 9.7%), declared the press-service of the association.

It is noted that the reporting production volumes will somewhat decrease, due to lowering of the general harvest of sunflower seed in 2014 by 1 mln tonnes per year.

The export volumes of sunflower oil will reach 3.85 mln tonnes, against 4.2 mln tonnes in the previous year (down 7%).

In turn, in 2015/16 MY the production volumes of major oilseeds in Ukraine will reach 16.3 mln tonnes, which almost meet the index of 2014/15 MY (16.2 mln tonnes). At the same time, rapeseed production will drop to 1.76 mln tonnes (down 20%), and soybeans - grow to the record level of 4.4 mln tonnes (up 13.7%).

According to Ukroliyaprom experts, in 2016 the capacities of oil-producing enterprises will reach 16 mln tonnes per year, which allows processing the harvest volumes of all types of oilseeds in Ukraine.

However, the massive export rates of soybeans and rapeseed from Ukraine slow down their processing prospects, as the export volumes of rapeseed exceed 96% of its general harvest volumes, soybeans - more than 60%, informed the press-service.

In 2015/16 MY, the production volumes of sunflower oil and its exports in Ukraine are expected to reach the same level as in the current season.
