Ukraine harvested over 37 mln tonnes of grains - Ministry of Agrarian Policy

As of August 28, agrarians harvested 37.1 mln tonnes of grains and pulses throughout the areas of 10.33 mln ha, or 71% of the plan. The average yield totaled 3.59 t/ha, reported the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine.

According to the announcement, Ukraine already harvested early grains and pulses throughout 100% of the planned areas (10.17 mln ha), the production reached 36.8 mln tonnes, with the yield of 3.62 t/ha.

As for late grains, Ukraine harvested buckwheat throughout 56 thsd ha (43%). The production volumes totaled 69 thsd tonnes, with the yield of 1.23 t/ha. Also, agrarians harvested 140 thsd tonnes of millet throughout 70 thsd ha (65%), with the yield of 2 t/ha.

Also, agrarians started the mass harvesting campaign of sunflower seed. As of the reporting date, Ukraine harvested 40 thsd tonnes of the oilseed throughout 20 thsd ha (from the planned areas of 5 mln ha). The average yield totaled 1.98 t/ha.

Ukraine continued harvesting soybeans, and already produced 96 thsd tonnes of the oilseed. The planted areas reached 51 thsd ha (2%), with the yield of 1.86 t/ha.

Agrarians prepared the soil throughout 6.14 mln ha (74%) for the planting campaign of winter crops. As of the reporting date, agricultural producers planted winter rapeseed throughout 231 thsd ha (28%).
