Settlement of the problem of regulating the profitability of production of certain types of agricultural commodities is one of the main tasks for the present Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, declared Volodymyr Lapa, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on September 24 in Kiev at the conference "Flour & Groats: raw materials, market, technologies".
According to him, the Ministry has already consulted with the Ministry of Economic Development, which resulted in making a working solution on the possible establishment of mandatory declaring of the prices by grain processors, while keeping the current profitability and trading margins limitations. In particular, the reporting mechanism will possibly cover the producers of bread commodities, said the Deputy Minister.
Also, V.Lapa accepted the current production deficit of buckwheat in Ukraine in the current year. According to him, the Ministry failed to stimulate the grain producers with forward grain purchases. But next year the situation will be corrected.
