In 2015/16 MY, the production volumes of sunflower seed in Ukraine are forecasted at 11 mln tonnes, declared the press-service of the association Ukroliyaprom on September 25.
It should be noted that the association kept the forecast of sunflower oil production in the new season at the level of nearly 4.2 mln tonnes.
According to Ukroliyaprom, in 2014/15 MY Ukraine again became the market leader in both sunflower oil production (4.26 mln tonnes, including oil mills) and its exports (3.86 mln tonnes).
The share of Ukraine in the general world exports of sunflower oil totals 53.2%. In 2014/15 MY, Ukraine exported sunflower oil to nearly 100 countries. India, China, the EU and the Middle East were the largest importers of the commodity, informed the press-service.
