According to APK-Inform analysts, the list of most promising directions of development of the Ukrainian market of rapeseed includes the industry of domestic processing of the oilseed and exports of rapeseed oil. Stable global demand for the reporting commodities in terms of some decline of rapeseed demand, and the presence of the countries with emerging economies and growing populations in the list of the world key importers, became the major background for such market development.
For example, in 2014/15 MY China became the leader in purchasing of Ukrainian rapeseed oil. The country received nearly 36% of the general exported volumes of the commodity, and 33% in July-September of the current season. Also, India would become another promising country-importer of the Ukrainian commodity, which in the current season already purchased 15% of the general export volumes of rapeseed oil from Ukraine.
The reporting countries, especially China, aim at self-sufficiency in foodstuffs, but their population continues growing in more intense way. Thus, APK-Inform analysts expect for stable and growing export volumes of Ukrainian rapeseed oil.
It should be noted that Asian customers prefer purchasing food rapeseed oil, as opposed to technical oil for European customers, which also influences the price positions.
