In 2015, Russia will supply nearly 3.5-4 mln tonnes of grains to Egypt, which will completely correspond to the level of previous two years, declared the trade representative of the Russian Federation in Egypt, Fedor Lukashin on November 16.
According to him, the authorities of two countries agreed that Russia is able to supply 5.5 mln tonnes of grains on the Egyptian market annually. But Russian companies still failed to reach the planned index.
At the same time, he noted that the current capacities of Egypt to purchase Russian grains are rather limited, due to the condition of the grain infrastructure of the country, therefore Egypt does not hurry to increase grain import volumes. Also, the Egyptian processing and storing capacities are not sufficiently modernized for accepting of large-scale grain stocks.
