The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia expects that in 2015, agrarians will produce the record volumes of corn and oilseed crops, declared the press-service of the Ministry on November 18.

In particular, the Ministry expects that in the current year, the harvest of corn for grain will exceed 12 mln tonnes. According to operative data as of November 16, Russian agrarians harvested the grain throughout 86.6% of the planned areas. The produced volumes reached 12.154 mln tonnes, with the average yield of 5.15 t/ha. Krasnodar Krai (3.239 mln tonnes), Voronezh (1.029 mln tonnes) and Belgorod oblasts (1.002 mln tonnes) were the leaders by corn production volumes.

Also, the Ministry forecasted that in the current year, domestic agrarians will produce the record harvest of soybeans. To date, agrarians harvested the oilseed throughout 99.4% of the areas. The produced volumes reached 2.8 mln tonnes, with the average yield of 1.42 t/ha. Amur (1.067 mln tonnes) and Belgorod oblasts (338.9 thsd tonnes), Krasnodar (265.2 thsd tonnes) and Primorsky Krais (252.2 thsd tonnes) became the leaders by soybean production volumes.

In addition, in 2015 Russia will harvest the record volumes of flaxseed - over 550 thsd tonnes. Voronezh (98.8 thsd tonnes), Rostov (97.5 thsd tonnes) and Volgograd (56 thsd tonnes) oblasts, and Stavropol Krai (52.7 thsd tonnes) became the leaders by flaxseed harvest volumes.
