During several recent years, Georgia increased its imports of grain by-products from countries of the Black Sea region to 41.5 thsd tonnes in 2014/15 MY, as opposed to 5.6 thsd tonnes in 2011/12 MY, declared the Head of Informational Division at APK-Inform Agency, Irina Ozip on November 19 during her report at Georgia Agro Forum -2015.

According to her, mainly the supplies of flour and groats formed the import structure of grain by-products from the region. As for wheat bran, countries of the Black Sea region did not ship the commodity to Georgia until 2013/14 MY at all.

Russia is the largest supplier of flour to Georgia among all countries of the Black Sea region (88% - in 2014/15 MY). Also, Russia keeps the leading positions in shipments of groats (98%) and wheat bran (about 92-98%).

Then, Ukraine keeps the second position in the rating of such commodities delivery to Georgia, followed by Kazakhstan, which export volumes are not significant, added the expert.
