In January-September period of 2015, Russia decreased grain export volumes by 3.2% compared with the same period of the previous year - to 19.918 mln tonnes, reported the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat).

According to the announcement, in the reporting period wheat and meslin traditionally formed the basis of grain export supplies – 13.32 mln tonnes, down 14.5% compared with the same period last year. The exports of barley increased by 87.2%, to 3.847 mln tonnes, and rice – up 53.1%, to 128 thsd tonnes.

As for the export volumes of other plant growing commodities from Russia, the volume of foreign supplies of wheat and wheat-rye flour grew in 2.2 times - to 172 thsd tonnes.

At the same time, in January-September of 2015, there was observed some decline of corn exports - down 10.2%, to 2.406 mln tonnes, and sunflower seed - down 40.3%, to 44.7 thsd tonnes.
