The Government of Russia instructed the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) to tighten control over supplying of agricultural products and foodstuffs from Turkey, declared the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Alexander Tkachev on November 26.
Taking into account the repeated violations of the Russian standards by Turkish producers, the Russian government charged Rosselkhoznadzor to control of delivery of such products from Turkey, and realize additional checkout at the border and directly in the points of production in the Republic of Turkey, said the Minister.
According to estimations of the Ministry, to date nearly 15% of Turkish agricultural products coming on the Russian market do not meet Russian standards.
