Kazakhstan put into service the northern terminal of the Aktau international seaport, informed the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev on December 14.
“Now, in connection with the completion of the railway in the direction of the Persian Gulf through Iran, we are opening new markets for our grain. In this regard, it is very important that we launched the object in time. Maybe this year will begin handling grain both in the direction of Azerbaijan and to the south”, - said N.Nazarbayev.
In particular, the new terminal will allow increasing the port capacities of grain shipment in four times, and establish modern technologies for transshipment of containers. Generally, the carrying capacities of the port will increase by 3 mln tonnes of cargoes per year.
