In 2015, the volume of grain shipment for exports by enterprises of PJSC Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port (NCSP Group) totaled 6.716 mln tonnes, a decrease of 9.7% compared with the same period last year (or down 719 thsd tonnes), declared the press-service of the company on January 27.

“Grain volumes were negatively affected by the export restrictions introduced by the Russian government early in 2015, and by overstocking of silo bins with wheat till May 2015, when export duties were reduced, as well as by the instability in Egypt in the second half of the year, leading to delays in ships’ loading and issuance of letters of credit”, explained the press-service.

Also, in 2015 NCSP Group decreased vegetable oils shipment by 25.2% - to 216.7 thsd tonnes.

NCSP Group is the largest port operator in Russia and the third-largest in Europe, in terms of cargo turnover.
