Rusagrotrans increased its forecast of Russian grain exports in February 2016

Experts of the analytical center of CJSC Rusagrotrans CJSC raised their forecast of the export volumes of Russian grains in February 2016 to 1.55 mln tonnes, against the previously expected volumes of 1.4 mln tonnes, declared the Deputy Director of the strategic management department of Rusagrotrans CJSC, Igor Pavensky, on February 2.

In particular, wheat will form the basis of Russian grain exports in February – nearly 1.2 mln tonnes, barley - nearly 90 thsd tonnes, and corn - 250 thsd tonnes.

I.Pavensky called activation of Russian grain exports, which is observed since the second half of January, as the main reason for increasing of the export forecast. Traders increased their export rates, due to expectations of possible changes of the export duties on wheat.

During recent weeks, companies-exporters increased wheat shipments, therefore in January 2016 the grain exports totaled nearly 1.3 mln tonnes, as opposed to the previously forecasted index of 1.1 mln tonnes, said the expert. Also, the shipments of Russian barley totaled nearly 105 thsd tonnes, corn - not less than 250 thsd tonnes.

And according to preliminary estimations, in January 2016 Russia supplied 1.67-1.7 mln tonnes of grains on foreign markets, against the initial forecast of 1.5 mln tonnes.
