Any statements that Russia's economy is turning towards the East, are incorrect. It concerns some corrections to the supply and demand balances only, declared the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Alexey Ulyukaev on February 1.
"When people say that the Russian economy in response to the negative developments with the European partners is shift towards the East, it is wrong. We are not shifting towards anything. We would just want to have a more solid base for development. This is a correction of imbalances“, - said the Minister.
He added that the choice in favor of development of economic relations with the EU as the priority partner was always obvious.
"When people talk about the largest economy in the world, about China challenging the United States and so on, they forget that the world's largest economy is the economy of the European Union", - A.Ulyukaev said.
