In 2015, the exports of flour from Ukraine totaled 304.6 thsd tonnes, an increase of 24% compared with the index of 2014 (245 thsd tonnes), declared the Director of the public association "Millers of Ukraine", Rodion Rybchinskiy on February 4.

At the same time, he noted that the production of flour reduced by 10% to 2.014 mln tonnes, against 2.243 mln tonnes in 2014.

Several factors influenced at reduction of flour production. First and foremost, the index decreased due to lowering of the population at the expense of both internal and external migration processes. In addition, industrial enterprises of both confectionery and bakery industries declined their consumption volumes of the commodity. At the same time, the producers of macaroni foods almost did not change their consumption volumes of flour, explained R.Rybchinskiy.

In 2015, flour production in Ukraine totaled 10.888 bln UAH in monetary terms, against 7.654 bln UAH in the previous year. The index increased due to rising costs for the commodity production.

Thus, the average flour price increased by 58% to 5404 UAH/t, against 3412 UAH/t in 2014, due to increasing of the grain cost, said R.Rybchinskiy.

Despite the reporting increase of flour export volumes, revenue from the exports decreased by 1% compared with the previous year - 69.156 mln USD in 2015, against 69.582 mln USD in 2014. Such situation developed due to the fact that the average export price of flour reduced by 20% to 227 USD/t, against 284 USD/t in 2014, summed up the Director of the association.
