Development of the Odessa sea port includes the further increasing of the capacities for shipment of containers, grains, as well as investments in the public service infrastructure, declared the Acting deputy head of the Odessa Sea Port Authority, Denis Karpov on March 29.

According to him, to date the port is realizing three investment projects which will increase the shipment capacities of grains to 17 mln tonnes per year, against the current level of 8-10 mln tonnes.

In addition, the development plan of SE Odessa Commercial Sea Port provides development of the railway infrastructure, etc.

In turn, the head of SE Izmail Sea Commercial Port, Andrey Erokhin informed that in order to increase the volume of grain transshipment in the Izmail port, there is required another elevator. It is estimated that the elevator will serve sea vessels with the deadweight of nearly 5`000 tonnes.
