Kazakhstan: as of April 1, grain stocks totaled over 8.8 mln tonnes

As of April 1, 2016, the registered carry-over stocks of grains and pulses in Kazakhstan totaled 8.863 mln tonnes (down 1.29 mln tonnes compared with the same date last year), reported the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In particular, peasant and farming households stored 1.649 mln tonnes of grains.

Wheat formed the major share of the general grain stocks – 7.666 mln tonnes, including 5.88 mln tonnes of milling wheat, 388 thsd tonnes of feed wheat, and 1.389 mln tonnes of wheat for seeds.

Also, corn stocks totaled 52.6 thsd tonnes, rice –155.9 thsd tonnes, barley – 710 thsd tonnes, rye – 34 thsd tonnes, oats – 107.8 thsd tonnes, buckwheat – 20.6 thsd tonnes, millet – 11.9 thsd tonnes, and mixture of spiked grain crops – 67.56 thsd tonnes.
