The current MY can be confidently called as the "buyer's market" year due to rather significant carry-over stocks of grains in the world, and the following changes of consumer preferences by countries, agricultural crops and the export geography, etc., reported the Head of trading department at PJSC State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine, Roman Rusakov.

According to him, to date the competition rates started strengthening on the traditional markets for Ukraine - the Middle East, Asian and European ones, besides Ukrainian traders are experiencing some difficulties in working with the markets of North African countries.

Due to sufficient domestic reserves of corn in China, the government of the country launched a number of measures to limit the imports in 2016. In addition, in the current season rather large-scale volumes of corn will be supplied to Spain and Italy compared with the previous year.

Also, in the current MY Ukraine has already lost its significant share of sales on the Egyptian wheat market, where Russia remains the chief competitor. At the same time, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand are the perspective markets for Ukrainian wheat.
