In 2015/16 MY, Russia will export nearly 24.5 mln tonnes of wheat (including flour in grain equivalent), which exceeds the previous season index (21.6 mln tonnes), and puts the Russian Federation to the second position in the global rating of grain exports, announced the Deputy Director of the strategic management department of Rusagrotrans CJSC, Igor Pavensky on April 25.

In the current season, only the EU countries will keep the leading position at 32 mln tonnes of grain exports, the analyst added.

As for the foreign supplies of other crops from Russia, I.Pavensky estimated the exports of barley at 4.3 mln tonnes (3rd position in the world), corn - 5 mln tonnes (5th position).

Generally, in 2015/16 MY the export volumes of Russian grains will reach 35.2 mln tonnes (including shipments to Kazakhstan), which exceeds the previous forecast of Rusagrotrans (34.4 mln tonnes).

In particular, in April Russia will supply nearly 2.5 mln tonnes of grains on foreign markets, including 1.57 mln tonnes of wheat, 170-200 thsd tonnes of barley, and nearly 700 thsd tonnes of corn.

As for the forecast for May, taking into account the active exports of wheat during several recent months and reduction of its stocks in regions, Rusagrotrans estimated the export volumes in May at 1.52 mln tonnes, including nearly 900 thsd tonnes of wheat, nearly 100 thsd tonnes of barley, and no more than 500 thsd tonnes of corn. The June exports will reach 1.2 mln tonnes, including nearly 700 thsd tonnes of wheat, the analyst concluded.
