The US Trade and investment mission supports the reform strategy for the agro-industrial sector "3 + 5", developed by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, and is ready to deepen bilateral cooperation in investment sphere between two countries, declared the Head of the US mission, Acting Deputy Secretary of Agriculture, Michael Scuse during his meeting with the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Taras Kutovyi.

The Head of the US Trade and investment mission said that the US party adheres its the clear position of further development of bilateral cooperation. Also, mission representatives pledged their political support to reforms of the Ukrainian agribusiness, and expressed readiness to exchange experience in investment development of the agricultural sector.

In turn, the Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine stressed the high significance of supporting of small-scale Ukrainian farmers, and movement to more advanced processing of agricultural products. The Ministry has to create favorable conditions for investment cooperation in the field of agricultural production, the processing industry and organic production, stressed T.Kutovyi.

Also, the Ministry plans to accept a number of draft laws for transparent and efficient circulation of agricultural land areas, as well as found the mechanism of economic motivation for those farmers who are willing to develop land and invest for long-run period.

As a reminder, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine headed by T.Kutovyi developed a strategic plan for the industry reforming "3 + 5". It includes three strategic priorities: government support for farmers, reform of state-owned enterprises, fair and transparent circulation of land areas; and 5 lines arising: expansion of sales markets, organic production and alternative crops, rural development, irrigation and food safety.
