The Southern region of Russia started harvesting grain crops, reported the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

As of June 22, agrarians harvested grain crops throughout the areas of 74.2 thsd ha (on the same date in 2015 - 50.8 thsd ha), and harvested 364.2 thsd tonnes of grains, with the average yield of 4.91 t/ha (in 2015 - 230.7 thsd tonnes with the yield of 4.54 t/ha), according to the announcement.

In particular, Krasnodar Krai harvested 193.8 thsd tonnes of grains throughout 36 thsd ha, with the average yield of 5.38 t/ha.

Stavropol Krai harvested 120 thsd tonnes of grains throughout 27.2 thsd ha, with the yield at 4.41 t/ha.

The Republic of Adygea harvested 44.3 thsd tonnes of grains throughout 8.6 thsd ha. The yield totaled 5.15 t/ha.

The Republic of Crimea harvested 6.1 thsd tonnes of grains.
