The Commercial Sea Port Ochakov (Mykolaiv oblast, Ukraine) has good prospects for increasing of the transshipment volumes of agricultural cargoes, especially grains, declared the Chairman of the Board at the Group of Companies U-PORT, Dmytro Zhminko on June 21 during his report at the 2nd American-Ukrainian Agrarian Congress in Washington, DC.
He presented the project of modernization of the port. So, during several following years, it is planned to construct a new container terminal, found the industrial park, as well as significantly expand the storage capacities of agricultural crops.
D.Zhminko estimated the volume of investments required for the project at 762 mln USD. In particular, creation of a new grain terminal will take 198 mln USD, modernization of the berth facilities and fleet - 33 mln USD and 55 mln USD, respectively. Also, 343 mln USD are required for dredging works, and 133 mln USD - for modernization of approaching rail lines.
The speaker added that the expected payback period of the project totals 9-12 years.
