As of June 24, agrarians of Turkmenistan produced 1 mln tonnes of wheat, declared the press-service of the Government of Turkmenistan.
According to the forecast, in 2016 the grain harvest will reach 1.6 mln tonnes, an increase of 0.2 mln tonnes compared with the previous year. Also, in the current year the general planted areas under grains in the country totaled 760 thsd ha.
At the same time, since 2011 Turkmenistan started exporting surpluses of harvested wheat for the first time.
