Rusagrotrans CJSC estimated the exports of Russian grains in 2015/16 MY at the level of 34.47 mln tonnes, an increase of 11.2% compared with the previous season (31 mln tonnes), declared the Deputy Director of the strategic management department at Rusagrotrans CJSC, Igor Pavensky on July 1. But he added that the reporting estimations are preliminary only.

In particular, wheat formed the major growth rates. Its exports exceeded the record index of 2014/15 MY by 2.6 mln tonnes, and reached 24.9 mln tonnes. At the same time, the exports of corn became somewhat lower compared with the optimistic forecasts (due to ending of its stocks, sharp decline of its supplies in June and the record rise of prices), and totaled nearly 4.57 mln tonnes. However, the export index still exceeded the previous season results by almost 0.6 mln tonnes, said the expert.

As for the export supplies of Russian barley, they decreased by nearly 1 mln tonnes compared with the previous year, and totaled 4.28 mln tonnes.

Taking into account flour (218 thsd tonnes) and pulses (almost 1 mln tonnes) volumes, the general export volumes totaled almost 35.7 mln tonnes, against 32 mln tonnes in 2014/15 MY, said I.Pavensky.

While speaking about trends in the beginning of a new grain season, the analyst noted that Russia will not face any significant growth of the export volumes. In July 2016, the export supplies will reach nearly 2.5-2.6 mln tonnes.
