In June 2016, Ukraine exported 14.6 thsd tonnes of high-oleic sunflower, which became the maximum monthly volumes in the current season. The index exceeded the results of May 2016 by 21%, and doubled the index in the same month last year.
During 10 months of 2015/16 MY (September-June), the export volumes of the reporting products from the country totaled 55.43 thsd tonnes, an increase of 32% compared with the same period last season, which became a new record. Also, the reporting volumes already exceeded the index for the whole 2014/15 MY (55.39 thsd tonnes), as APK-Inform analysts previously forecasted.
The EU countries remained the main sales market for high-oleic sunflower oil from Ukraine. In the reporting period the region imported more than 90% of the product supplies from Ukraine. TOP-5 of countries-importers purchased 78% of the Ukrainian product: the United Kingdom (11.7 thsd tonnes), the Netherlands (11.4 thsd tonnes), Spain (9.8 thsd tonnes), France (6 thsd tonnes) and Italy (4.5 thsd tonnes).
