In 2016, Russia to produce the record harvest of grains for 37 recent years – Rusagrotrans

Analysts of Rusagrotrans CJSC increased the forecast of the general grain harvest in Russia in 2016 to 118.5 mln tonnes, against the previous forecast of 116 mln tonnes, declared the Deputy Director of the strategic management department at Rusagrotrans CJSC, Igor Pavensky on August 17.

According to him, Russia produced the previous record harvest of grains 37 years ago, in 1978 - 127.4 mln tonnes.

In particular, in the current year Russia will produce 72-73 mln tonnes of wheat (against the previously forecasted 71 million mln tonnes), and 19.5 mln tonnes of barley (against 18.3 mln tonnes).
