As of August 1, 2016, the registered carry-over stocks of grains and pulses in Kazakhstan totaled 2.959 mln tonnes (down 583 thsd tonnes compared with the previous month), reported the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan on August 18. In particular, peasant and farming households stored 248 thsd tonnes of grains.
Wheat formed the major share of the general grain stocks – 2.584 mln tonnes, including 2.34 mln tonnes of milling wheat, 189.6 thsd tonnes of feed wheat, and 54.9 thsd tonnes of wheat for seeds.
Also, corn stocks totaled 14.753 thsd tonnes, rice – 39.417 thsd tonnes, barley – 230.775 thsd tonnes, rye – 21.013 thsd tonnes, oats – 31.457 thsd tonnes, buckwheat – 3.548 thsd tonnes, millet – 3.104 thsd tonnes, and mixture of spiked grain crops – 24.287 thsd tonnes.
